
We are as inclusive as possible in welcoming all students for whom we can provide an appropriate program based on their needs. We believe that every child can learn and learns at her/his own pace. Children who are in need of special support staff will receive services in order to help them learn and achieve at their level. The school districts provide special services and Saint Kilian will do its best to provide assistance in accordance with the guidelines of the Diocese and the Diocesan Director of Individual Student Abilities.

Remedial Programs
For students requiring additional assistance in reaching their academic goals, remedial math and reading services are available. These services, while funded through the Midwestern Intermediate Unit, will be available on our campus and provided by on-site staff.
In-School Enrichment Programs
Students who meet all of the following requirements will have the opportunity to take the G-Made and GRADE for possible enrollment in the in-School Enrichment Programs. The G-Made and GRADE will be administered by personnel from the MIU4 and students must obtain a stanine of 8 or 9 on these assessments in one or all of the stated subjects.
- exceeded standards and expectations on their report cards by receiving a 4 or an A in Reading, Language and Math
- score a 97% or above on the standardized testing (Terra Nova or comparable standardized test) in Reading, Language and/or Math
- have a teacher recommendation
Speech/Language
Speech and language services are also provided through Act 89 funding. This is a special service offered to students to enhance communication skills which directly impact social and academic interactions. These services will also be provided in our building.
Counseling
A certified counselor will be available after school to provide individual and small group counseling sessions to children in grades K-8. Children are referred by parents, principal, teachers, and through self-referral. Individual counseling requires parent permission.
Student Assistance Program (E-SAP)
E-SAP is a program for students in grades K-12 who are experiencing behavior difficulties which impact their social, emotional, and educational progress. It is a comprehensive program of prevention, intervention, and support which promotes growth and development of the child. Team members, including the principal and faculty members, have received special training through Approved Agencies. Team members must maintain all information regarding students and their families under safeguard of privacy and confidentiality. Access is limited to those who have a legitimate educational interest.
