Event FAQ's

  • Is it an Adult Event? WHY?
Yes, in the original fundraising letter sent at the beginning of the school year, the Spring Event was being planned as a Family Affair. However, due to both fundraising goals and other events planned throughout the year, the Event Committee, Fundraising Chair People, Sister Kathy and the PTG Leadership decided it was better for this event to be Adults Only.

  • Can I bring non-SKPS people?
OF COURSE!! The event is sponsored by and planned by some of the most generous and giving SKPS parents, but we are hopeful that family, friends and parishioners will join us for a great night of dinner, dancing and community building.

  • Last year's Fashion Show & Auction was open seating. I want to guarantee I sit with my group of friends.
We want you to, also! Please email your seating requests to springevent_rsvp@saintkilian.org by March 8 (10 guests per table) and we will be sure that you are assigned to the same table. NO OPEN SEATING, this year. RSVP BY MARCH 4th !!

  • How will I bid on items?
Each attendee will be given their table number as well as a bid number assigned to their seat at the beginning of the evening at the registration table. Therefore, all bidding is anonymous- UNTIL YOU WIN!

  • Will all items be auctioned to the highest bidder?
No! There will be a fantastic array of themed baskets for raffle via tickets purchased at the event, with winners announced after dinner. AND, of course, back by popular demand, the live drawing of the 2010-2011 Free Tuition Raffle!

  • Can I win the tuition raffle if I don't come to the event?
    Simply, YES!

  • How many entries can I have in the tuition raffle? Can family and friends buy tuition raffle chances for my family?
You can enter as many times as you like. Anyone can enter the raffle and donate their winning tuition to any enrolled child/family. Look for additional ticket sales at all our Saint Kilian Fish Frys (see you there!) or via the link on the SKPS Dinner Dance & Auction page of the website.

  • I cannot make it to the event on March 13th , but I heard the auction items are FABULOUS! Will I be able to bid on them? How will I know what they are?
Click here to view and bid on items now!

  • How do I place an absentee bid?
All absentee bids must be submitted in a sealed, clearly marked envelope by the due date & time specified in the rules below. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  • Wow! It looks like a really fancy event (those invitations were high-end)! What should I wear?
Yes, the committee is hard at work to make this a classy evening, but don't fret over a tux or gown. A jacket is appropriate for you gentlemen, and a tie is not required. And ladies, you know what to do! Just a great outfit you feel like dancing in (but no jeans)!

  • OK, when can we get started with this fantastic shindig?
Doors will open at 6pm for registration, cocktails and hot and cold hors d'oeuvers and - the start of the auction!

  • I'm going to be hungry (and thirsty)!
Bring your appetite! Our food and beverage committee has a delicious menu planned for you and your guests. After the butlered appetizers, and table-served salad, you will enjoy a mouth-watering buffet of Beef, Chicken, Pasta and Fish with a great compliment of side dishes! You won't go home hungry. The cash bar will be open from 6 to 10:00 with $1 of all adult beverages going to the overall event profit.

We Need Your Help!

We can use your help to make the 2010 Dinner Dance & Auction a SMASHING success. Our event is successful because our families all participate - one way or another, we cannot do it without you!

  • Do you have time to volunteer (no time or effort is too small) on one of the committees and meet new friends and support your childrens’ school?

Please contact event chairperson, Beth Pawlowicz for more information.
  • Do you have a business that wants and values the exposure to our school and parish community?
  • Do you want to donate a terrific item to the basket raffle or silent auction?

The auction items will be fun and amazing. We already have commitments for some real favorites as well as the return of the Tuition Raffle and classroom projects! The proceeds from the Dinner Dance and Auction will allow SKPS to continue to grow, meet our operating budget and provide fantastic programs for your children and our faculty. The wonderful after-school enrichment programs, Children and the Arts Programs, Field Day, Catholic Schools Week programming and Faculty appreciation and enrichment are just a few of the wonderful ways your generous support will continue to build our amazing school all the while enabling us to meet our $175,000 fundraising goal in an enjoyable way.

The Auction committee is hard at work procuring items for a spectacular evening of bidding. We want to have a vast array of items to excite and entice you. We could use your help to get more great auction items. Do you have a vacation home you'd like to offer for a week or weekend? Some memorabilia from your favorite team? Tickets to a cultural or sporting event? A favorite bottle of wine or a favorite hobby item? Be creative ! What would you be excited to bid on? We will also have the ability to purchase extra gift cards to donate to the cause while meeting your gift card goal!

For those of you with businesses, this is a great opportunity to get your products and services noticed while all the while helping your children's school. We will also have a program book with advertising space. We expect a capacity crowd between 400 and 500 people. Think of the audience for your advertisement! You could even send a special personal message to your child or your child's teacher .

We understand if you're not comfortable approaching businesses for donations, but perhaps your family would like to sponsor a basket? You decide the theme and fill it to your liking. Your family will be acknowledged in the program book with a special Thank You !

If you have an item for the baskets or auction, want to place an ad, volunteer in any way or have questions, please contact the following chairpersons and we will be happy to assist you, provide you with the forms and letters necessary to make a donation, place an ad or approach your favorite business donor/advertiser

Please take a moment to reflect on how you and your family can help us achieve the mission of our School and support our precious children and our wonderful faculty and provide the best Catholic Education at Saint Kilian Parish School! We look forward to seeing you at the Saint Kilian Parish School Dinner Dance & Auction!

God Bless,

The Dinner Dance and Auction Committee
